Breathing Modes in Rotating Bose-Condensed Gas: An Exact Diagonalization Study
We present an exact diagonalization study of the breathing mode collective
excitations for a rotating Bose-Einstein condensate of spinless bosons
interacting via repulsive finite-range Gaussian potential and harmonically
confined in quasi-two-dimension. The yrast state and the low-lying excited
states are variationally obtained in given subspaces of the quantized total
angular momentum employing the beyond lowest Landau level approximation in
slowly rotating regime with . For a given , the low-energy
eigenspectra (bands) are obtained in weakly to moderately interacting regime.
Further, for a given interaction, the split in low-lying eigenenergies with
increasing is the precursor to spontaneous symmetry breaking of the
axisymmetry associated with the entry of the first vortex. With increase in
repulsive interaction, the value of the first breathing mode increases for
stable total angular momentum states L=0~\mbox{and}~N, but decreases for
intermediate metastable states. The position of the observed first
breathing modes in the eigenspectrum remains unchanged as the interaction is
varied over several orders of magnitude.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures, RevTex two colum

Novel phases in rotating Bose-condensed gas: vortices and quantum correlation
We present the exact diagonalization study of rotating Bose-condensed gas
interacting via finite-range Gaussian potential confined in a quasi-2D harmonic
trap. The system of many-body Hamiltonian matrix is diagonalized in given
subspaces of quantized total angular momentum to obtain the lowest-energy
eigenstate employing the beyond lowest-Landau-level approximation. In the
co-rotating frame, the quantum mechanical stability of angular momentum states
is discussed for the existence of phase transition between the stable states of
interacting system. Thereby analyzing the von Neumann entanglement entropy and
degree of condensation provide the information about quantum phase correlation
in the many-body states. Calculating the conditional probability distribution,
we further probe the internal structure of quantum mechanically stable and
unstable states. Much emphasis is put on finding the spatial correlation of
bosonic atoms in the rotating system for the formation and entry of singly
quantized vortices, and then organizing into canonical polygons with and
without a central vortex at the trap center. Results are summarized in the form
of a movie depicting the vortex patterns having discrete p-fold rotational
symmetry with .Comment: Updated version with 12 pages and 25 figures. This paper is dedicated

Measuring Transport Resilience: A Manawatu-Wanganui Region Case Study
The resilience of transport networks is attracting greater scrutiny at the international,
national and sub-national levels. This research report explores the current state of
knowledge about measuring transport resilience and presents a case study to address the
question is: How resilient is the road and rail infrastructure in the Manawatu-Wanganui
Region? This region in New Zealand’s lower North Island provides an interesting case
study due to its strategic location in the North Island’s and indeed New Zealand’s
transport network. In addition, it has experienced significant disruptions in the recent
past, most notably widespread failures caused by flooding in 2004, and the lengthy
closure of a significant inter-regional road connection, the Manawatu Gorge State
Highway 3 road, due to a landslide in 2011-2012. It also provides an opportunity to
explore this topic outside of a major metropolitan region. The region’s transport networks
and infrastructure also have important social and economic functions.
This research report is structured around a proposed Transport Resilience Indicator
Framework (RIF) which explores six key dimensions of transport infrastructure resilience:
engineering, services, ecological, social, economic and institutional. This holistic approach
to measuring transport resilience and is envisaged to accommodate both qualitative and
quantitative indicators. Within this framework, data were gathered via analysis of
secondary sources and nine key informant interviews. The interview participants were
from public sector agencies responsible for managing aspects of the region’s transport
network, the private sector and one social service provider. The participants had
considerable knowledge relating to the planning of the road network and/or its economic
and social significance. They also had knowledge of the impacts and/or management of
recent disruptions.
The institutions responsible for managing the region’s transport network can identify
vulnerabilities in the network, but can also collaborate and learn from past disruptions.
Concerns were expressed about the level of funding for maintaining and upgrading the
region’s transport networks, particularly for territorial authorities with large networks and
small rates bases. The region is strongly dependent on the roading network, with limited
alternatives during roading network disruptions. It proved difficult to quantify the
environmental impacts of transport disruptions. A case study of the response of a local
ii
health shuttle service provided an example of how a community, by drawing on social
capital, was able to adapt and respond appropriately to a transport disruption.
One key area identified for further research is assessing the capacity of private
contractors to respond to natural hazard events of varying magnitudes. The RIF could
also be strengthened by the use of indicators based on quantitative data, in addition to
qualitative data. It is suggested that one method of achieving this could this could be to
adopt a multi-disciplinary approach, drawing on expertise, methods and perspectives
from related professions, such as engineering and economics. [Executive summary
Kekhasan Lokal Kurikulum Inti Pendidikan Arsitektur Berbasis Kompetensi

Provenance of Sediment Deposits in Lake Tempe, South Sulawesi
Sedimentation rate in Lake Tempe is a serious problem faced by the government and local communities due to the high sediment transport from upstream of several rivers that flow into Lake Tempe. This study aims to determine the source of the rock material based on analysis of heavy mineral sediment. The research area is located at the estuary of Bila River in Sidenreng Rappang Regency. The method used is test pit and surface sampling. Laboratory analyzes were performed is the analysis of grain size (granulometry), heavy mineral analysis (heavy mineral separation) and microscopic analysis. There are 14 types of heavy minerals found in the Tempe Lake namely: zircon, tourmaline, rutile (ZTR) as ultra stable mineral. The less stable minerals are epidote; and others are olivine, hipersten, augite, hornblende, biotite, casiterit,, brookit, apatite, magnetite and iron oxide. Source rocks of the minerals are interpreted from igneous and volcanic rocks of acidic to intermediate type
